Great Opportunity! Market Access & Key Accounts Director

PEAK Pharma Solutions is currently recruiting on behalf of a growing Canadian pharmaceutical organization. Our client is expanding and developing a new division to support a new product launch. You will want to part of this exciting opportunity. This position is a full-time, permanent position directly with the client, PEAK Pharma Solutions Inc. is only acting as the recruiter.


The Director, Market Access & Key Accounts is responsible for leading and achieving companies market access and key account management objectives for all public, private payers as well as GPOs. This position is also responsible for Gov't Relations and be the internal expert on Healthcare Policy at both National and Provincial level. The Director will facilitate and oversee execution of all strategy and activities with these customers and stakeholder to drive revenue and growth for our client.


This person will provide strategic direction to facilitate the development of rewarding relationships/partnerships leading to positive negotiations and ultimately the acceptance of the company’s products in an appropriate access formulary position. This position also requires thorough understanding of pharmacy and medical reimbursement, the changing healthcare landscape and account operations within the marketplace. The scope of the job also includes leading and developing direct report(s), and creating innovative solutions for the target customers.


This individual must have extensive relationships within designated account and customer base.


  • Enhance access to our client's products by delivering the value propositions and negotiating appropriate formulary positions within Public, Private and GPOs.

  • Develop and maintain the Market Access strategic plan and account management plan

  • Provide direction and communicate the Market Access vision and strategy to the account team, senior leadership and executive leadership across entire organization

  • Develop and maintain thorough knowledge of both public and private account and their business environment to provide a basis for profitable partnering, through close and frequent contact with identified stakeholders of prominence within target account.

  • Proactively identify customer needs and business opportunities and ensure those are rapidly incorporated into the business plan and executed with the target customer to support sales, market share growth, and ROI targets of the company.

  • Demonstrate leadership in the formulary management process, including contract pull-through by field personnel, ensuring the creation of a seamless cross-functional team with common goals and measurable objectives.

  • Coordinate with Marketing in creating visibility around the contribution made by target account to annual sales and share targets with Brand Marketing, Sr Management and Executive Management.

  • Build and lead a high-performance team of Regional Account Managers by securing the best available talent, developing future leaders, encouraging the pursuit of developmental opportunities and by providing ongoing coaching and feedback.


Education:


Bachelor's Degree in a Science related field, Master’s preferred.


Specific skills & Experience


  • 3-5 years of managing market access and account executive team and 2 or more years in pharmaceutical sales leadership positions or national account management position.

  • A deep personal knowledge and experience dealing with provincial formulary and hospital formulary listing processFull understanding of Pharmacy and Medical Reimbursement expertise

  • Experience in contracting, launching, or gaining access with Public and Private payors/GPOs at both National and Provincial Level.

  • Excellent negotiation skills.

  • Demonstrated superior account management and project management practices.

  • Excellent understanding of Public and Private account, their structure, key stakeholders and internal processes to formulary review and acceptance.

  • A good understanding of basic finance return on investment and profitability analysis.

  • Outstanding interpersonal skills, ability to communicate to executive leadership both internally and externally, and flexibility to meet customer demands.

  • Demonstrated personnel managerial abilities, and excellence in building and developing high performing teams.

  • Entrepreneurial spirit and demonstrated understanding of value-added activities

  • Budget goal performance

  • Development and performance of direct reports
