PEAK Pharma Solutions is currently recruiting on behalf of a growing Canadian pharmaceutical organization. Our client is expanding and developing a new division to support a new product launch. You will want to part of this exciting opportunity. This position is a full-time, permanent position directly with the client, PEAK Pharma Solutions Inc. is only acting as the recruiter.

Job Brief

Our client is looking for a skilled Key Account Manager - Western Canada to assume a senior leadership role in sales, with a primary focus on hospitals, GPOs and Regional Health authorities The ideal candidate will build strong relationship with these strategic customers, while working with sales and clinical teams. The goal is to sustain and grow sales and achieve long-term success for our client. The position reports to the Senior Director, Market Access & Key Accounts.


  • Develop and implement our client’s strategic and tactical plan for the key account management in Western Canada

  • Develop strategic relationships with a portfolio of major institutional clients, with a specific focus on Directors of Pharmacy, C-Suite and Mental Health Institutions

  • Leverage and understand Western Canada local and regional environment

  • Prepare regular progress reports and business forecasts for internal and external stakeholders, using key performance metrics

  • Segment hospital customers and monitor emerging needs/trends, market opportunities, and competitive threats

  • Share relevant customer intelligence with all internal stakeholders and engage field teams to develop solutions and strategies

  • Contribute input and expertise to the Commercial Operations team and the Trade/GPO team

  • Contribute to the team meetings that promote team-based problem solving and best practice sharing

  • Pursue innovation opportunities that expand our client’s reach with customers and differentiate the company from the competition


  • Strong oral, written, and presentation skills BSc/BA degree in sciences or business administration

  • 7-10 years in the institutional (Hospitals/GPOs/Regional organizations) sales experience in Western Canada

  • Superior communication and interpersonal skills with aptitude for relationship building and an ability to elevate the company’s presence with various customers, including hospitals, group purchasing organizations, professional associations as well as government and regional health authorities

  • Contracting experience that includes RFP planning and responses, as well negotiation of multi-year agreement and overall proactive management of contract life cycles

  • Track record of success in health care sales, preferably including leadership roles in sales management and/or key account management

  • Demonstrated strong situational and leadership experience working with commercial teams without direct management responsibility

  • Western Canada Region includes BC, AB, SK, and MB - travel requirements are significant to ensure effective regional coverage


  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree

  • Experience in cardiovascular market and/or CNS market considered an asset
